Member of ’85 Bears Dave Duerson Dies at Age 50

Former Chicago Bears and ND Fighting Irish safety Dave Duerson accomplished a lot, two NFL championships, during his short life. Today he was found dead in his Miami home.  Very few details are known right now about the cause of his death.

According to Chicago Breaking Sports:

A native of Muncie, Ind., Duerson starred at Notre Dame from 1979-82 and played for the Bears’ 1985 Super Bowl champions. He was chosen for four Pro Bowls from 1986-89 and also won a Super Bowl in 1990 with the New York Giants.

“Our family asks that you please remember Dave as a good, kind, and caring man,” said Duerson’s former wife, Alicia, according to NBCChicago.com. “He loved and cherished his family and friends and was extremely proud of his beloved Notre Dame and … Chicago Bears. Please keep Dave and our family in your prayers.”
